All Set for inaugural ZimHipHop Summit

All is set for the inaugural ZimHipHop Summit happening during the Shoko Festival on the 30th of September 2017.The summit is the first of its kind in Zimbabwe and seeks to mix action with dialogue in a bid to unlock the potential local HipHop has consistently​ displayed yet failed to transform into tangible results.The summit is the brainchild of SA HipHop Mag editor Darrly Nyamutsamba,Jibilika founder Plot Mhako and femcee Awa Khiwe 

The summit is divided into three panels which will see dialogue being led by gurus who include rappers,producers,bloggers,radio DJs,promoters and representatives from the business community and organizations which represent interests of Creatives.

There is a State of ZimHipHop panel which will discuss the apparent stagnancy and lack of growth in the game.The Business of ZimHipHop panel will be centered around monetizing and earning from rap.The Lyricism & Conflict panel will address the divide that often ensues when brands ask artists to prostitute their craft and the role of artists in advocating for a better society through the music.
Speakers to lookout for include Siyabonga Metane AKA Slikour presented by the Zimbabwe German Society, Stunner, Cal_Vin, Tehn Diamond, DJ Mox (Star FM), Lady K (The Fixxx, ZiFM), award winning videographer Blaqs, ZIMURA director Polisile Ncube, Phil Chard (The African Hip Hop Blog), PD The Ghost, Keisha Thompson (UK), Rafael Tudesco (Brasil), Mambila Mageza (from In Place of War), beatboxer Probeatz, Joel Gombera (Senior Manager – Group Marketing CBZ holdings) among others.
